Worship With Us

The center of our life together as a church is our Sunday worship gathering, where we come together to hear and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our worship service draws on historic practices from various Christian traditions and is arranged with God’s Word at its center. Within the service, there is a repeated pattern of God speaking to us through the Word preached, read, or recited, followed by our response in singing, prayer, giving, and taking the Lord’s Supper together. You can find out more information about our order of service in our worship guide.

We would love for you to join us and experience more of God’s amazing love for you!

Eating with others was an important part of Jesus’ ministry, and it’s important to us as well. Join us in our fellowship hall as we sit down to enjoy the blessing of food and friendship. Meals are $5 per person, with a maximum cost of $15 per family. First-timers are welcome to come without a reservation, but all others are asked to let us know they are coming so we can prepare the right amount of food. To make a dinner reservation, click the button below and let us know how many people you plan to bring.

After the meal, you’re invited to join us for a time of biblical teaching in our chapel. We offer classes on various subjects, taught by pastors, members, and guests. These classes are designed to help people know God, themselves, and the world better. Examples of subjects include Bible surveys, book studies, Bible backgrounds, Christian living, and more.  Childcare is provided for children of all ages during the class.

Membership

Becoming a member of the Body of Christ is a life-changing experience. And finding our role in this body, such as the ways God is calling us to serve others and to be served by others, is incredibly fulfilling. God has called us to experience this kind of growth in a local church. In this context we have the opportunity to learn, forgive, sacrifice, understand and be challenged. And here we have the opportunity to show the world what it means to be a follower of Jesus—by loving one another.

At Lake Highlands we consider church membership to be an important aspect of knowing others and being known. We welcome anyone to come and experience the church in the service and small groups, but membership is that next step where we commit to one another in more intentional ways. In our membership process you will get to know our beliefs, what’s important to us as we seek to serve one another and the people in our community, and the ways in which you can join us in our mission.

Steps to Membership

  1. Membership 101 class - Learn about our congregation, beliefs, and values and what it means to be a member at LHCB.

  2. Membership interview - Meet with one of our pastors to tell us about yourself and your relationship with Jesus. You will also have an opportunity to affirm the church’s statement of faith and covenant.

  3. Members meeting - New members are voted in at the church’s members meetings, held every two months.
