I have served as a pastor at LHBC since 2022. Before that, I worked for over a decade in higher education. I hold a PhD in theology from Southern Seminary and helped found the Center for Baptist Renewal, a network of orthodox, evangelical Baptists committed to retrieving the Great Tradition for the renewal of Baptist faith and practice. My passion is to minister the word of God through preaching, teaching, and personal discipleship. In addition to my general pastoral responsibilities, I oversee our small group ministry and discipleship of new believers and members.

I grew up between Brazil and southeast Texas, married a thespian, and together we’re raising five kids. Outside of church and family, I enjoy gardening, birding, fly fishing, the fine arts, and supporting Liverpool Football Club. #YNWA
